Chapter Index

Witch Aiko was curious how this ‘girl’ was able to find the source of this place. Even Witch Aiko’s eyes didn’t allow her to follow the energy distribution of this place, making it difficult to find the source.

Her main sense of direction came from the ‘frequency’ of ‘abnormal’ things.

The roasted flying chicken was the main example, but there were even more.

Things like trees made out of leaves and branches swinging around in the wind. Everything was so abnormal and absurd that the group paused and looked around each time.

“I have never experienced such Natural Formation.” Mei was curious and wanted to take this place with her home, but that was simply impossible.

And as for recreating this place somewhere else, that was even less likely since it would need a lot of materials and time, but the main problem was the actual Natural Formation itself.

You could never guess just how large the Natural Formation was for it to be able to do these things. Was it as big as this place? Maybe. Was it as big as the Clan’s whole base? Possible. Was it as big as the whole Nightmare Forest? Unlikely, but not impossible.

The most severe thing about recreation was that there didn’t really need to be an obvious flow of Qi, as such estimating and recreating things turned out to be more difficult than one might expect.

However, the black ‘girl’ spoke as if she knew the size of this place and where things were located.

This was simply unbelievable and at the same time priceless if it was true.

Witch Aiko was walking with Mei and Danji when suddenly something crashed in front of them.

“Ugh…” The familiar pair groaned as they were falling for a while already, guessing by their expression.

“And how did they manage to get here?” From what Witch Aiko understood, there needed to be an ‘invitation’ to join with others, but she never thought about the Twins, since she already had the highly skilled Mei and Danji.

She also didn’t want to disturb the Twins from their ‘fun’ since those toys were quite pricey.

“We don’t know, we rested after our happy time, but then we suddenly started falling.” Yuxi explained briefly since she was in pain.

“And next we knew, we crashed in front of you.” Wanshu added since she landed on Yuxi, making her body not hurt as much.

The scenery changed again, but this time it was highly detailed, unlike before.

The ground was covered by short green grass, it was nice to the touch and a little bit prickly, but nothing out of ordinary. The grass itself was not moving as it didn’t seem like this place was recreating the wind or anything that would pose a difficulty in setting up.

The grass was followed by sparse trees, they were the prickly kind, unlike the beautiful crown type with soft leaves.

Above the clouds were some strange specks, it seemed like this place was trying to recreate birds, but failed miserably. It kind of felt like this place was locked in time, unable to progress or regress, just exist.

There were some clouds, but once again they were completely static, making things seem odd.

There was… sun, if you can even call it like that. It was round and it shined on them and that’s about where the similarities end as it was currently creepily smiling at Aiko’s group.

“This place is more and more bizarre.” Mei shook her head, she didn’t like this place at all, so it was better to find the source and destroy it.

“Don’t forget creepy, I won’t be able to rest as long as that ‘thing’ is up there.” Danji had to add that part, since that Sun was just… yeah…

“How about shooting it down?” Yuxi suggested and immediately pulled out a few knives.

“How are you supposed to shoot down something that doesn’t exist?” Witch Aiko rolled her eyes, but she didn’t think it was a bad idea. If they could shoot down the Sun, then this place would either turn dark or kick them out.

Witch Aiko had no issue with the dark, so she would be able to navigate even if there was complete darkness.

Her team might have some issues, but Witch Aiko would just have to guide them around and everything would be fine~

“It’s somewhere here.” The black ‘girl’ spoke before making a blob out of herself and no longer responding.

“It seems like she is asleep, so we will have to explore alone for the time being.” Danji knew this, since she would often sleep when she was low on Qi.

The Twins were curious about the black ‘girl’ turning into a small orb, but they held their curiosity back for the time being.

It was not time yet to think about such things. Their main goal right now was to try and find the centre, so this place would finally end.

[Explore the Dream Realm] [Special Mission] [Explore the Dream Realm created by a Natural Formation that was taken over.] [Current: 19->23%] [Reward: Depends on total exploration.]

Witch Aiko checked this system and frowned. How could this place be so big when they were already walking for so long?!

Mei noticed Aiko’s expression and soothed her. “Don’t think too much about this place. It’s just a ‘Dream Realm’ so not everything will make sense.”

“I know, but it’s still bothering me.” Witch Aiko sighed as she observed her surroundings. Nothing much changed, other than keeping things semi-realistic.

She was kind of wondering what kind of sick fuck would try to create this place, but knowing humans it might’ve been done on a whim. It would not explain why they were caught, so it also might be just that the Earthen Elephant Clan made this trap for the intruders, but Witch Aiko didn’t really see them as the smartest bunch, so that one might not be true.

“I wonder if we can find the source.” Witch Aiko wanted to just sleep and not deal with this.

“I’m not sure. It’s good that the Twins are here, since we will be able to explore more, but as for if we can find it… We don’t even know the shape of the source, so it might take a while.” Mei shook her head.

“I’m here too, you know.” Danji’s lips twitched. Even at this point they were trying to surpass each other which bothered Aiko.

They could fight, but they shouldn’t fight when their lives are in danger.

“Ah, yes.” Mei rolled her eyes and looked around. “I will take the ‘north’.”

“East.” Danji didn’t like Mei, but she couldn’t really go the opposite way, just in case Mei would try to attempt something.

The Twins took the rest and Witch Aiko was left alone in the middle.

“What am I supposed to do…” Witch Aiko couldn’t really follow any of them since the others would then complain that they weren’t picked.

Witch Aiko stretched her body and reclined her head to look at the sky.

“That’s it!” Witch Aiko chuckled sinisterly. “It’s time to gouge those eyes!” She would just shut down the sun if it meant she would be able to leave this place.

The ‘sun’ hearing this stilled, it no longer had that ‘smug’ expression and now it was concerned about what might happen next.

Witch Aiko chuckled as she came to the nearby trees.

*Riiiiiiiiiiip*

She uprooted them and built a pyramid-like structure towards the sky.

Why did she not fly? She was not able to fly or use any techniques that would allow her to move freely. And yes, she could [Jaws of ####], but it didn’t feel right to leave everyone behind.

Yes, the not-so-Evil Deer was transported with her, but Witch Aiko wouldn’t count on that she would be able to keep everyone with her during the transit.

As such, she would just obediently look for the core of this place and break it so that everyone was freed~!

“I also want that snack.” Witch Aiko was looking forward to that elephant soup, but that would mean-

*Crash*

Something crashed into Aiko, making her crash into the ground in return.

“Ugh…” Witch Aiko groaned as a familiar voice woke her up.

“Gosh, I’m so sorry, are you alright?” The bird lady spoke softly.

“You are here too?” Witch Aiko was startled that even someone as powerful as her was still captured in this place.

“I had a nap and suddenly appeared in an abnormal room, so I just looked around until I crashed into you.” The bird lady awkwardly caressed her hair.

“You mean on top of me.” Witch Aiko rolled her eyes. Right about now she was already supposed to sleep peacefully, but alas.

“But, I found something strange, something shiny up behind the Sun.” The bird lady pointed at the sky as if she was referring to that creepy thing.

“So something behind it is what causes this place to exist?” Witch Aiko tilted her head. This was a great find, but how was she supposed to build up so much wood that she would be able to reach it?

It was a bit unrealistic considering it was not just the Sun, but something behind it, signifying increased distance.

“We should be able to reach it. This place isn’t really flat and you can find ‘stairs’ to move onto the next stage. I think we will be able to find something similar to this.” The bird lady suggested before looking around…

“Oh right.” Witch Aiko just realised that they didn’t set up any way to contact others, so-

“Hm?” The group appeared before Aiko, as if they never parted before.

“We found a clue.” Witch Aiko smiled happily.

“Something behind that Sun is strange.” The bird lady smiled.

Mei and Danji were visibly disturbed that the bird lady was here. She was even more beautiful than before which concerned them.

Meanwhile, the Twins were in their own little world.

“I wonder how many logs we can gather.” Yuxi chuckled. “Stacking them seems fun, but we should be careful about the foundation.” Wanshu warned her partner, since building things required more than just gathering ingredients.

“Ay ay.” Yuxi chuckled before running off with Wanshu for more resources.

“And there they go.” Witch Aiko sighed softly, those two were truly unstoppable when it came to their own world and while Witch Aiko didn’t mind, it was a bit strange that they were carefree even in this situation…

Ezy
